Get VT Alerts from Twitter

Individuals have the option to follow the @vtalerts Twitter feed and/or receive Twitter updates via text message. You do not need to have a Twitter account to view the feed online or subscribe to text message updates.

Subscribing to Twitter text message updates from @vtalerts

• Text “Follow vtalerts” to the number 40404. You will receive a few text messages in response.
  • If you already use Twitter and have linked your cell phone number to your Twitter account, you will receive the following messages:
    • You’re now following @vtalerts. Their tweets will be sent to you. Send OFF @vtalerts to stop.
    • A copy of the last message sent by @vtalerts and the date that it was sent.
  • If you do not already use Twitter or if your cell phone number is not linked to your Twitter account, you will receive the following messages:
